Testimony: PTSD Healing of a Marriage & Family Therapist

I am writing to tell you about my healing from post-traumatic stress disorder. On January 11 of this year, Randy Clark ministered at my church. As he began to talk and share of people being healed, I became aware of the presence of God touching me in a unique way. I felt a "weight of glory" on my body that started at my head and went to my toes in what can only be described as waves. I was totally immersed in the experience and did not realize what was happening until he described another person who had suffered from post-traumatic stress who had been healed at a meeting. At the end of the service, I spoke with him and he prayed over me for complete healing.

My history is one of abuse, sexual, emotional, and physical and it began at a very early age in my life. The Lord saved me at 12; however, I did not enter into discipleship until the age of 40 when I was truly born again. For most of the years between being saved and returning to Christ, I continued to experience abusive acts perpetrated against me. At this stage of my journey, I have come to realize that healing from trauma can take a lifetime and accepted this fact for myself as well as those that I come alongside to help.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who is dedicated to helping to "heal the brokenhearted." Although it is a mystery to me how the Lord works through broken vessels to restore and renew others, I have known for a while that healing is my life's mission. Another amazing detail about the healing that I received is the timing. On New Year's Eve, I attended service at the church and when I wrote the check for the offering, I was impressed to give $111. Deuteronomy 1:11 briefly came to mind, but I did not give it another thought until this occurred.

On 1/11, He sent His Word and fulfilled it in my life: "May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!" When I told my Bishop about my healing, he encouraged me to write this testimony. I thank God for this ministry of healing and pray this is an encouragement to Randy Clark and those who serve with him.

"May the Lord bless you and keep you and may His face to shine upon you"
